The Micro-stress Group has just prepared a new proposal for a new Neutron Diffraction experiment on the Fourier-Stress-Diffractometer (FSD) instrument, belonging to the Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics (FLNP) in Dubna, Russia. This instrument is characterized by having two lateral detectors and a central one. Thus, measurements can be obtained from several directions at the same time and with high precision. The experiment will focus on the measurement of two new samples that promise to provide extremely important results in the investigation of microscopic residual stresses.
