On Tuesday, the Council of Ministers authorized the signing of an agreement between the Ministry of Science and Innovation and the Center for Energy, Environmental and Technological Research (CIEMAT) to promote Spain’s candidacy for the IFMIF-DONES (International Fusion Materials Irradiation Facility – DEMO-Oriented Neutron Source). Through this agreement, the Ministry will contribute 13 million euros of FEDER funds and CIEMAT 3.3 million euros to finance different activities for site preparation and the implementation of laboratories related to this international infrastructure. The Government thus reinforces its commitment to the installation of this project in Granada, a joint Spanish and Croatian initiative supported by the European Fusion Program.
