On Friday, March 6 José Antonio Lozano, Professor at the University of the Basque Country and Scientific Director of the Basque Center for Applied Mathematics, has explained the research tasks of BCAM and also gave a lecture entitled:
“An introduction to time series mining”.
Abstract: In this talk we will give an overview of time series mining. In particular we will focus on classical data mining problems such as clustering, supervised classification and anomaly detection. For these problems we will emphasize the differences between working with time series or regular vectors. In addition, we will present new problems that
appear in the area of data mining when working with time series and also point out the complexity of working with time series streams.
